Accountable

In efforts to be accountable, I registered myself in Livestrong.com. This is a great website with valuable information regarding fitness and nurition. The website allows one to track their workouts and eating habits. I will be using this in addition to the dailymile.com (workout sharing website).

For me it's all about being accountable in what you put in your body. I come from the old school where people say "eat what you want... as long as you workout". Well, that may be fine if your in your 20s. However, I'm not and have to start eating better. Christine, my girl, tells me all the time to eat better. Although I have good intentions and try, I don't always measure up. Therefore, I need something to hold me accountable and putting in writing is one way for me to do this. I've tried this in the past and end up using the excuse that I'm too busy to write-down my daily eating consumption. BUT in all honesty that's a cop-out and lame excuse. Really!!! Come on, how long does it really take? Anwer: 10-15 mins tops.

Be Accountable!!! Be Accountable!!! Be Accountable!!! I'm saying it three times so I can have cemented in my stubborn head.

Later.

Small Steps

Well, I made a small step yesterday. For lunch I had a small hamburger and hotdog (leftovers from Mothers Day-hahaha). Yup, not your ideal nutritional meal, but I was able to resist the temptation to eat fries or chips with this meal. For me this is HUGE!!!. I was rasied that a burger or hotdog was not complete without these dangerous sides. Brainwashed to a degree because I know it's not true, but do so out of habit. Well yesterday, I fought the urge and won the battle. I didn't even miss the fries or chips. Instead the orange and banana I brought was satsifying enough.

This may not be much or not an indication that I'll never eat fries or chips, BUT it is a small step and for now I'll take it.

Chips are Evil

Chips are evil and there's no ends about it. What nurtition value do they really serve. NONE!!! I've gone back and reviewed my food logs and workout logs and conclude that every lame workout that I've done is preceded by me eating chips either the day before or the day of. Therefore, I am going to try to rid chips from my lifestyle. I say "try" because these suckers have a STRONG hold on me and have for years. And anybody that knows me are well aware that chips and queso is my weakness.

Wish me luck!

Below is a weblink for those wanting to see that data. Although the website gives great data, the bottome line is that  chips are EVIL!
